Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving

In a unexpected collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Revealed

According to the authorized statement, "A strange confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and terrifying changes echo through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine cult.

The adventure focuses on "peculiar trials and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Additional Features

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an exclusive katana together with numerous objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Unique implements
• Survey Corps vehicle

Newest Free Story Content

This release also introduces the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe debuts a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

Past Japanese Animation Crossovers

This signifies hardly the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime properties. The series previously included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
